We encourage children to become numerate. The word Numeracy is used to describe confidence in choosing and using a range of mathematical skills to solve everyday problems.

Mathematics is investigated under the five interrelated strands of Space, Number, Measurement, Chance and Data and Reasoning and strategies. Where possible links are made to other curriculum areas. Many areas of the curriculum incorporate mathematical concepts and provide opportunities for exploration and reinforcement of mathematical learning. We recognise and cater for diversity and support student's success in numeracy. We provide rich learning environments by setting open ended tasks that enable students to explore and extend their understanding of mathematical concepts and ideas. All classrooms are well resourced with a wide range of general and specialised Mathematical equipment and computer software to enhance student's learning.
