Teacher Strike Action on February 14th 2013
11/ 2/ 2013
Dear Parents,
On Thursday February 14th 2013, the Australian Education Union is implementing a stop work action for the whole work day. The stop work has been called due to the inability of the Australian Education Union and the Victorian government to settle on a new agreement for teachers, principals and educational support staff. Our colleagues from the Catholic schools sector will be joining state school teachers on this day.
Our school, like all schools in the state, will be disrupted by the industrial action that takes place on this day. The following teachers will be taking industrial action on this day.
Ms Penna- PHP
Mrs Sanford- PJS
Mrs Valerio- PSV
Ms Herbert- PEH
Mrs Wakeling- PJW
Ms Watson- 1LW
Ms Kalogiannis- 1AK
Ms Glavas- 1KG
Mrs Tyson- 1ST
Mrs Bonnes- 1HB
Ms Davies- 2CD
Ms D’Angelo- 2AD
Mrs Tsalkos- 2AT
Mrs Grace- 2CG
Mrs Runnalls- 3LR
Mrs Lewis- 3HL
Mr Riffat- 5AR
Mr Lenart- 5PL
Ms Valeri- 6MV
Ms McCarter- 6LM
Mrs Taverner- Educational Support
Mrs Fennessy- Educational Support
Mrs Mobilio- Educational Support
Mrs D’Amato- Educational Support
Mrs Osborn- Art Specialist
Mrs Vella- Art Specialist
Mr Rayner- Phys Ed
Mrs Klepkas- Music Specialist
Mrs Kyriakidis- Reading Support Program
Mr Colagrande- Assistant Principal
I simply do not have the ability to cover all of these teachers on this full day action and ask parents whose child’s teacher is taking industrial action to keep the child at home on this day if at all possible. I would like to reiterate to parents that teachers rarely take industrial action, however no agreement has been reached in almost two years of negotiation and I believe our staff want the best education system possible for all students.
Regards,
Mr Sevior
